Scan Data Storage Devices for Deleted Partitions
You can scan data storage devices to identify partitions and logical drives.
To scan a Data Storage Device:
- Select a data storage device in the Recovery Explorer tree.
- Run the Data Storage Device Scan Wizard by doing one of the following:
- Click Scan in the toolbar
- From the Disk menu, click Scan
- Right-click the selected device and click Device Scan from the context menu
- Follow the instructions of the wizard when it appears.
Saving Data Storage Device Information
A data storage device scan takes a long time. So that you do not have to scan a data storage device more than once, the results of the data storage device scan can be saved and loaded. Use the steps below to save the information:
To save Data Storage Device information:
- Select a scanned device and do one of the following:
- From the Disk menu, click Save Drives Info As...
- Right-click the selected device and click Save Drives Info As... from the context menu
- Specify the path to save the Data Storage Device info file and click OK.
To open a previously-saved Data Storage Device info:
- Select the desired device and do one of the following:
- From the Disk menu, click Load Drives Info...
- Right-click the device and click Load Drives Info... from the context menu
- Specify the path to the Data Storage Device info file and click OK.
