Scanning Logical Drives for Deleted Files and Folders
Scanning logical drives is a required step for recovering files and folders. You can do this scan as a part of the Recover Files and Folders Wizard, or you can apply the scan separately.
To scan a logical drive:
- Select a logical drive in the Recovery Explorer tree. If this drive has not been scanned yet, the Scan Logical Drive Wizard appears.
- Follow the instructions in the wizard to scan the logical drive.
To scan several logical drives:
- Locate the Local Logical Drives item in the Recovery Explorer tree.
- In the Local Logical Drives list, use CTRL + mouse click to select all of the logical drives that you want to scan.
- Start the Scan Logical Drive Wizard using one of the following methods:
- Click Scan in the toolbar
- From the Disk menu, click Scan
- Follow the instructions in the wizard.
To repeat a scan of a logical drive:
- Select a logical drive in the Recovery Explorer tree.
- Start the Scan Logical Drive Wizard using one of the following methods:
- Click Scan in the toolbar
- From the Disk menu, click Scan
- Right-click the selected drive and click Device Scan from the context menu
- Follow the instructions in the wizard.
