Scanning Logical Drives for Deleted Files and Folders

Scanning logical drives is a required step for recovering files and folders. You can do this scan as a part of the Recover Files and Folders Wizard, or you can apply the scan separately.

To scan a logical drive:

1. Select a logical drive in the Recovery Explorer tree. If this drive has not been scanned yet, the Scan Logical Drive Wizard appears.
2. Follow the instructions in the wizard to scan the logical drive.

To scan several logical drives:

1. Locate the Local Logical Drives item in the Recovery Explorer tree.
2. In the Local Logical Drives list, use CTRL + mouse click to select all of the logical drives that you want to scan.
3. Start the Scan Logical Drive Wizard using one of the following methods:
   • Click Scan in the toolbar
   • From the Disk menu, click Scan
4. Follow the instructions in the wizard.

To repeat a scan of a logical drive:

1. Select a logical drive in the Recovery Explorer tree.
2. Start the Scan Logical Drive Wizard using one of the following methods:
   • Click Scan in the toolbar
   • From the Disk menu, click Scan
   • Right-click the selected drive and click Device Scan from the context menu
3. Follow the instructions in the wizard.
