Cloning Logical Drives

A local drive’s properties may become corrupted. As a result, all data on this corrupted drive becomes inaccessible even though the drive is recognized by the operating system. To recover data from this drive, you can adjust the drive’s properties by creating a Virtual Drive using the Clone Drive Info option.

To create a Virtual Drive from an existing drive, follow the steps below:

  1. In Local Logical Drives, select a corrupted drive.
  2. Create a Virtual Drive using one of the following methods:
    • From the Disk menu, click Clone Drive Info
    • Right-click the corrupted drive and click Clone Drive Info from the context menu.
  3. The cloned Virtual Drive appears under Local Data Storage Devices in the Recovery Explorer tree with the Detected Partition icon ().

See Using Virtual Drives for more details.
